My favorite dress that I found at the Dewdrop Swap & Shop was this vintage floral print shift. Fall florals is definitely a trend I want to join in on, so I snatched it up while happily giving up some of my retired pieces for others to enjoy. The one thing I wasn’t thrilled about- those billowing 60s bell sleeves (see below). Not really the look I’m going for.
I figured that would be an easy DIY alteration since there were seams attaching the bells to a more current short sleeve length. All I’d have to do is seam rip the bell sisters off and sew back up the short sleeves to make it a polished finish. While sewing at my pal Kellie‘s house about a week ago I took care of business.
I really loved how this Le Tote necklace went so well with the blue flowers in the dress- it almost looked like it was pop art as if the necklace is a 3D version of the printed flowers. Once the weather gets a bit cooler I’ll be sporting this dress with tights, knee high boots and a leather jacket. Now all I have left is to figure out what to do with the extra fabric leftover from the no longer needed sleeves. Any ideas?
